ABOUT US

Established in 1939, BPW NZ works to improve the status of all women. We are an all-volunteer, apolitical organisation providing members with networking, leadership, advocacy and personal development opportunities.

ADVOCACY

Advocacy is given high priority in our federation and there is encouragement for all members to participate in club discussions which lead to the forming of resolutions then policy. Policy and background material feeds into the many advocacy submissions that BPW NZ makes.

NETWORKING

BPW connects and empowers women. Our membership includes women in a variety of workplaces – from small and medium businesses to large corporations; from the private, public and non-profit sectors, as well as women no longer in paid work. Our members include influential women leaders, young career women and savvy entrepreneurs running their own show.

LEADERSHIP

We encourage our members to take advantage of the leadership opportunities in our clubs as well as nationally and internationally. BPW NZ also provides support and skill development for women seeking leadership positions in the workplace and our communities.

DEVELOPMENT

Our members develop self-confidence and gain encouragement and inspiration in a safe environment. This happens through a structured personal and professional development programme – My BPW: Keys to Achievement (check it out here) – as well as via peer-to-peer mentoring, and through guest speakers and panels at regional and national events
